Singer signed to West’s Def Jam imprint G.O.O.D Music in 2012
Teyana Taylor has concluded her album listening party which was broadcast via a Twitter livestream so fans could also get a preview of
the new music.
The singer’s highly anticipated new record, Keep That Same Energy, made its debut at the party held in Los Angeles.
She previously contributed to West’s 2010 album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, and featured on “Christmas in Harlem” that
same year.
She signed to West’s Def Jam imprint G.O.O.D. Music in 2012, and later that year, appeared on the Cruel Summer compilation. Her
debut album VII dropped in November 2014.
According to Kim Kardashian, West was finishing Keep That Same Energy en route to Los Angeles from Paris, where he took in Virgil
Abloh’s SS19 debut Louis Vuitton runway show and shared an emotional hug with the designer at the end of the presentation.
West had previously given the same livestream treatment to his other productions: his own album ye, Kid Cudi’s Kids See Ghosts, and -by Nas.
Taylor’s album marks the last of five Kanye West-produced projects that he promised back in April.
The album has not yet surfaced on streaming platforms but is expected later today (22 June).
